Fall Colours

While there were still leaves on the trees (although a lot of them were on the ground at that point), Parker and I took a trip to Lemoine Point so he could run around!  Here are some photos of him exploring the trails.  I told you I had lots of photos to post!

In his stroller, the mighty Pliko P3.

I turned him loose on the path and he took off running!  Luckily he's not very fast.......yet.

Some leaves were falling from the trees and he thought that was pretty awesome.  He tried to catch them!

Every now and then you just have to stop and play with the velcro straps on your shoes.

I thought I'd try and take advantage of the leaves on the ground, so I sat down to get nice and low.  When Parker saw me he sat in the leaves too!
It's hard to see, buried in the leaves, but Parker loooooved chasing a ball around.  My parents got him this weird hollow ball that's easy to pick up and he was kicking it and chasing it down the path.

That's a lot of leafy photos.

More Faces

Not unlike Simon Belmont from the old Captain N: The Game Master cartoon, Parker loves checking himself out in mirrors.  We listen to a lot of music in the living room and sometimes when he hears a song he really likes (such as Raffi's "Aiken Drum") he'll dash down the hall giggling until he gets to the mirrors on the closet doors.  He might dance a little bit, lean in close to get a good look at himself, make some funny faces, or spin around.  Or any combination of those things.  Here he is doing his thing.

No wonder he's so used to the camera -- check out how close I get to him when I shoot sometimes.  I'm all up in his face and he's all like, "YO DADDY WHY YOU ALL UP IN MY FACE?!?!"

To combat my up-in-his-face-ness, he offered me Cheerios.

Looks like he's doing some vocal warmups or something.  La la la la....  me me me me....  And all those little smudge marks are from his little sweaty hands.  Looks like we need to break out the Windex.  Don't judge!
Checking out his belly-button.  Parker looks pleased.

"Ahhhh!  There's a guy behind me with a camera!  Oh wait."

Mouthful of grapes!  Although one of Parker's new favourite foods is apples.  He'll go to the fridge (if we open it for him) and rummage through the crisper drawers to grab an apple all by himself! And then he'll take big bites out of it all by himself!  And then he'll spit out the skin into his hand and give it to me all by himself!  I guess that's better than finding it in little piles behind a book shelf.

Caught In The Act & Independent Reading Time

Trying to climb out of the bath?  Busted.  Here he is showing off his climbing skills now that he's a humongous super giant:

And here he is concentrating pretty hard on a book. He could be playing with the pail, or the farm, or the blocks, but noooooooo -- he wants to read the book.

Parker's language skills are growing along with his height! Here's a rough list of words he knows (I might be forgetting some, but maybe once April wakes up I'll get her to check it over):

please keys trees peas cheese (notice a trend?) water milk juice up mama dada mail car apple banana (his first 3-syllable word!) beef corn home papa (although he calls the phone papa) nana bye-bye hi hair nose mouth eyes truck yeah no shoes book kitty woof-woof roar weeeeee (he calls swings and slides weeeees) chicken me pee-pee Elmo hello (sounds like wewwo, and he only says it when he holds the phone up to his ear) tummy bump-bump Toopy clock baby all-gone all-clean

Backlog Of Photos

Whew!  It's been a while since I posted!  Luckily April had the Thanksgiving update covered.  :D  I have a zillion different photos to post so I'll try to make an update every day with new stuff!  On to the photos:

When we were at the mall Parker spotted the giant Clifford ride thing a mile away!  He started smiling and pointing so we put him in the chair so he could goof around.  We didn't even have to put money into it for him to have a good time!

Next to Clifford was an old skool car ride, so he got a chance to sit in that one too.  I think he had fun spinning the steering wheel while we made car noises.

Here's Parker waiting patiently in line for a Harvey's hamburger!  Not for him, but for Mommy -- we took it to her for lunch that day.
Sporting some overalls and a big smile as we cruise the aisles at Home Depot.  Unfortunately their employees couldn't help Daddy with the questions he had.  Boo-urns.  At least Parker got to ride in a cart, though!  Yay!

Thanksgiving and Watering Cans

A few weeks ago, Parker and I headed to Brockville for Thanksgiving weekend while Garrett was away shooting a wedding. It was great to see so many people, eat such delicious food, and spend time with relatives, watering cans, guitars, and other things we love. Here are some photos ....

Parker and Mr. Watering Can. As you can see, they really hit it off.
Having a super serious conversation with Abuelita ... I think they're debating turkey vs. ham at Thanksgiving dinner.

Cousin Ali (the bride-to-be!), her fiance Darryl playing guitar, and Parker with Mackenzie, totally into Crowded House songs.

New Sweater Jacket And Yummy Croissant

Here's Parker wearing one of his Christmas presents last year from cousin Caroline -- an awesome sweater jacket!  I think he's ready for the GQ cover.

Parker loves croissants (so does Daddy!), although I call them bread for him.  Here he is all bundled up for a walk the other day, complete with bread in hand.  When ever I say, "Share with Daddy?" he goes, "Yeaaahhh!!!!" and holds it up so I can take a bite.  Best toddler ever.

Followers And Photos

So I just discovered a new feature on Blogger that allows you to "follow" blogs!  So if you're a fan of Parker's Adventures and want to show off, feel free to click the "follow" button in the top left corner!  Or say hi in the comments!  Hi Laura!  On to the photos!

Parker hanging out in his cool-guy shirt.  We're getting hair cuts this Thursday so his hair won't be as crazy.
Parker and Mommy reading a book!  Parker loves books, but I think he loves Mommy more.
It's hard to tell from the photo, but that blurry image on the page Parker is turning is Humpty Dumpty.  He's reading Mother Goose rhymes.  Back in the day he thought us saying Humpty Dumpty was pretty funny but now he's moved on to more sophisticated humour, like armpit tickling and silly dances.
The magic of balloons!  My clever framing cut the marketing material off the balloon.  Ha!  Take that, balloon marketing team!
Parker's favourite new past-time is to stack his MEGA BLOCKS!!!111eleven He has always enjoyed sticking them together and pulling them apart, but it was like a lightbulb went off the other morning and he realized he could stack them vertically in different patterns.  He probably spent about 20 minutes stacking, knocking them over, and re-stacking them.  And he actually has a pretty good eye for colour patterns, oftentimes gathering all the green ones and sticking them together, then moving on to purple, and so on.
Here you can see how he stacked a bunch of orange ones next to each other, then some purple, and now he's working on some yellow.  He had some pretty nice patterns going on.  Genius?  Mayhaps.....
Not that there's any pressure or anything to be an artist.............

Cousin Kellen

Here's Parker's little cousin Kellen!  I think he was a bit thrown off by my camera (although it IS hypnotic).
