Lauren Hanging Out and Parker's Haircut

Lauren hanging out.
 Being cute with mommy.

 Parker gets another haircut.

Haircuts are funny.

 Or maybe they're serious business.

 Or maybe they're boring business.
These photos are so old that he's almost ready for another haircut now!

She Walks! Finally!

After 18 months of being carried every where by me, Lauren finally walked by herself for the first time ever the other night!  She's been flirting with it for a while (standing up, doing a little dance to whatever song is playing, and sitting back down) but she finally just decided to go for it.  Here are some videos of her first few steps.
Parker freaking out is awesome.  :D
And again.
And one more time.
Aaaaaaaand spent.

Double Birthday In Brockville

Uncle Shawn and I have the same birthday, and it was also Abuelito's last weekend in Brockville, so we all went for a visit to hang out and eat cake!  Here's Lauren with her best friend Lito.

Playing with April's old Cabbage Patch Doll.

Parker loves putting the train set together (especially the bridges).

Lauren having a little rest on Lito.
Laughing at something on the computer.
We found some gigantic paper and a set of markers and pencil crayons, so Parker wanted to do some tracing practice.
He started by writing his name, but then he ended up just drawing crazy squiggles and asking me to trace over top of them.  After I finished, he'd look at me and go, "Good!  Good job!  Nice tracing!"
Nathalie brought a birthday cake for me and Shawn!  Yay!
 Blowing out the candles.
And here are some photos of Lauren from the other day.  I showed her the photos on my camera after I took them and she thought they were hilarious.  She just started recognizing herself and calling herself by name (although she says Lonan instead of Lauren).
She was putting all of the Alphie cards on her head and saying, "Hat!  Hat!"

After these photos I took her for a haircut!
Lauren's speech is really improving!  She talks a lot at home, and is really good at repeating (or at least trying to repeat) everything we say.  She's good at putting a few words together in a sentence and can usually tell us what she wants, which is always helpful when dealing with a baby. She's still not totally walking on her own yet.  Hopefully by the time she's 3.  She'll stand up and look around, but then she sits back down and crawls around.  Or asks you to hold her hands so she can walk with help.

Videos!

A million old videos I haven't had a chance to post!  Here's an old, muffled video of Parker reading Thomas And The Big, Big Bridge (bridges are kind of one of his obsessions) on April's Kindle:
Lauren playing with one of her favourite toys, the Sesame Street bus.  Who knew The Count was such an awesome driver?  She also has a lot of little toy Sesame Street and Yo Gabba Gabba guys that she likes to put in the bus, and then take out, and then put back in.  Sometimes she'll take them out and pile them up together, then drive the bus away.  Then she'll look back at her friends and go, "Come ooooonnnnn!!!" as if she's waiting for them to catch up.  Maybe that's a sign I say that to her too much?
Lauren trying to figure out the cash register while we rock out to some Simon & Garfunkel.  Ohhhhh yeah.
'Round and 'round the garden with Lita and Lito.
Agaaaaaiiiin?
Abuelito singing and playing an awesome song!  The only other Spanish song I know is this.  I'm looking for a man who calls himself Bucho.  That's all.
Jam session with Parker!  Unfortunately the only song Parker knows on guitar is this.  And that's air guitar, not real guitar, but it's still pretty close.
Parker enjoying some TV while Lauren tries to get in on the video action.
