First Soccer Game Ever

Parker hasn't done a sport yet so we signed him up for soccer this summer!  He seemed pretty psyched going into it, putting on his cleats and shin pads.  Unfortunately the weather was pretty cold and dreary, but I'm sure there will be plenty of scorching hot soccer nights in the future.  Here are some photos from his first game!

That guy next to Parker was awesome.  He totally dominated and I think he scored a goal about 7 seconds into the game.
 Some running.
 Some more running.
There's a lot of running in soccer.
 KICK.

Our soccer field is right next to train tracks, so every time a train went by Parker was a bit distracted.  He made sure to let us know if it was a Via train or a freight train, and if it was going east or west.

This photo pretty much encapsulates what little kid soccer is all about.  There's a girl on the left playing with some grass and showing her parents, there's a girl on the ground after being knocked over or tripping, there are a bunch of kids randomly scrambling after the ball, and then there's a kid with a hoodie in the back just standing there and watching the whole thing.

Parker got to kick the ball!  Yay!
Parker and Russell (from his class) goofing around instead of going for the ball.  :)

I think Parker's team won!  But I'm not entirely sure if they even keep track of the score.  Either way it was a lot of fun exercise for the kids and Parker really enjoyed it!  We're looking forward to the next game!
